Day 1: Arrival – Matale – Kandy
Arrive at Colombo at Bandaranaike International Airport, and meet your Purple Routes representative right outside the airport.
You will proceed to Kandy, stopping en route at Matale Spice Garden to learn about Sri Lanka’s worldrenowned spices.
Optionally, we can also visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued elephants up close.
Arrive in Kandy and begin a city tour including Upper Lake View, the local market, and a gem museum.
In the evening, enjoy a Kandy Cultural Dance Show, a vibrant performance of traditional Sri Lankan dances.

After breakfast, check out and depart for Nuwara Eliya, stopping at Ramboda Waterfalls cascading through misty hills.

Depart for Wadduwa, a coastal town along Sri Lanka’s western shore.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax by the sea.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Wadduwa via Bentota, famous for its beaches and river landscapes.
On arrival, enjoy a Madu River boat safari through mangrove islands and visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where conservationists protect endangered sea turtles.
Return to Wadduwa in the evening.

Upon reaching the capital city, embark on a brief sightseeing tour which includes a visit to the iconic Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), a stop at the historic Independence Square, and time to explore a vibrant local street market where you can soak in the city’s energy and pick up some last-minute souvenirs.
If time permits, you may also choose to visit the revered Gangaramaya Temple, known for its unique blend of modern architecture and cultural heritage.
Later, you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey.
